The thing about beat-boxing is even really good beat boxing gets super annoying after five minutes.

I used to try and beat box all the time, and everyone told me it was annoying, and i just thought they were hating…  but I was watching a TED talk, or a TEDx talk, and this guy beat boxed for a long time, and it was obvious that he was the best of the best.  But after five minutes of quality beat boxing, it’s not like the guy is going to start sounding EVEN MORE like drums, or DJ effects, or whatever.

Now, if the beat boxing results in, say, a break dance duel, then I could probably listen to it for longer, as it isn’t really the main focus…  But, do people make albums of break dancing?  Do people listen to break dancing albums?  Is there someone somewhere with an iPhone FULL of solo beat boxing breaks?   I mean, I guess there’s a market for everything, but what REALLY is the chief end of the beat boxer?  Maybe giving a TED talk IS the chief end?

I guess what i’m trying to say is that i used to find beat boxing fun (even though i was terrible at it), and then my wife said it was kind of annoying (so i stopped), and now that i stop to think about it, i guess i’m kinda realizing she is right.  -sigh-
